The Government is pressing firmly ahead with its aim of central and local government providing full on-line services by 2005. Gosport Borough Council is responding to the challenge in a positive manner and has developed a strategy with the overall objective of utilising the latest technologies to make its services more accessible and available to all parts of the community. The objectives of the strategy are as follows:

* To improve service delivery to residents and visitors

* To increase access channels to services and information

* To provide an integrated solution to meet e-Government agenda

* To meet e-Government targets for 2005

Gosport's peninsular location, with 17 miles (27km) of water frontage on Portsmouth Harbour and the Solent, offers a maritime playground second to none with all the facilities to match. It also means plenty of superb beaches and safe bathing waters.

Scores of historic buildings and attractions are the legacy of Gosport's military history, yet this urban borough also has surprising areas of open space and natural beauty where you can enjoy the thriving wildlife and peaceful walks.

A wide choice of shops, places to eat, famous pubs, and sporting facilities add to Gosport's appeal.
