Move with the times - Case Study

Move with the times

Forum Public Relations was set up some 12 years ago and we used a dial-up connection for many years. Cries came from all quarters about the benefits of moving to Broadband - we knew that we should, but you know how it is – you’re busy, it’s going to take time, etc., etc.

An office move and the incentive of a Hampshire broadband grant provided the catalyst for change and we are now benefiting from using Broadband just like everyone said we would. It did take some time and quite a bit of patience to sort out, but it is up and running and has made quite a difference to the working day. (I’ve just had to break off to answer an email that’s simultaneously ‘arrived’ – now with dial-up it would have been some time before I’d even seen it.)

As a public relations company with clients that range from local government bodies to chic hotels abroad much of our work has to be done by telephone or by email. Broadband has made contact with our clients more speedy and if designers want to send through pdfs of their artwork then they are taking much less time to download. It’s great too to be able to easily check something out on the internet whilst you’re working on a job, without having to break off to use dial-up.

Yes, you’ve got to move with the times, keep up with the rest and then look back and wonder why you didn’t do it before!
