ESE Associates Ltd is a small independent consultancy specialising in Human Factors Support to large engineering companies. We have quite a wide client base and we work out of 2 premises one in Hampshire and one in Dorset. One of the concerns that I needed to address was to maintain the ability of dial-up connection if I was working away from our main site at Yateley. Our ISP is Demon and they were able to provide us with a package that allows both broadband connection and dial up connection. All I need to do is to change the connection details in Outlook express for all of the accounts. This takes less than 1 minute and I can be up and running with either broadband or dial up

We have just been doing a job for an organisation that required a significant amount of time searching for documents and downloading them. Some of the documents were pdf files which are very large and would have taken several hours to download using dial-up. In fact we would not have been able to deliver the final document, which was a set of Guidelines in the Design, Presentation and Use of Emergency and Abnormal checklists for the Civil Aviation Authority , without having Broadband installed.

Also spending long periods on the internet ties up the phone and business calls could be lost. Installing Broadband has definitely improved the efficiency of our organisation.
